Frequent answers and questions
SIMO is a unique patented wheelchair simulator that has been developed to determine wheelchair dimensions and enhance seating posture in wheelchairs.
SIMO aims to address the needs of wheelchair users, physiotherapists, medical supply stores, clinics, and doctors.
SIMO measures all the necessary seating dimensions required for an active wheelchair in millimeter increments.
The wheelchair fits 100% according to your body measurements, thus preventing health issues caused by an incorrect seating position.
The new wheelchair can be tested before it is built. The seating position can be adjusted and changed within seconds, allowing the measurement to be felt at every measurement point on the body.
Through SIMO, you obtain the actual wheelchair dimensions, which makes ordering an electric wheelchair easier, as all measurements can be pre-set.

Age is not as important for taking measurements with SIMO. The crucial factor is body height.
It starts from approximately 1.0m – 2.20m.
Spinal cord injuries requiring upper body stability, neurological disorders
(such as paraplegia, tetraplegia, ALS, MS, muscular dystrophy, hemiplegia)
SIMO is manufacturer-independent. All models that incorporate the measurements obtained from SIMO can be used.
No, a measurement with SIMO does not require the purchase of a wheelchair. SIMO provides accurate wheelchair measurements and does not impose an obligation to buy a wheelchair.
As long as the physical and health circumstances remain unchanged, the measurement remains valid. However, if several weeks pass between the measurement and the wheelchair order, it is recommended to have a new measurement or a check with SIMO to ensure accuracy.
SIMO can determine the measurements of a wheelchair user within 15 minutes. However, the actual duration depends on the user’s condition and the specific circumstances.
Yes, as the front part of SIMO is easy to remove and the seat height can be adjusted. The wheels can be moved backward and locked if necessary.
Due to the nature of SIMO’s size and weight, home visits are mostly excluded.
It is always advisable to have the cushion required for wheelchair adaptation to obtain accurate measurements, as each cushion varies in height and sinking depths.
While sitting on SIMO, you feel every change when adjusting the seat settings. After successful adjustment, you can operate the drive wheels and navigate in a virtual environment on a screen.
Together with the on-site technician or therapist, the correct seating position is adjusted using a controller. Seating posture tests and driving tests on the screen can check seat stability and any discomfort in the movement process. Furthermore, visual self-perception is checked through two cameras attached to SIMO.
By propelling the wheels, the movement process can be analyzed to assess the seat adjustment/seating position for anatomically correct movements and to test the seating position. It can also determine if I cover the most distance with the least effort in my adjustment.
I drive in a virtual environment, and distance, time, and speed are displayed to me.
Yes, SIMO is equipped with a photo analysis system. Peripheral cameras can capture the user while simulating an alternative seating position. These photos and recordings can be used to assess and visualize the improvement of the seating posture.
There are two cameras. One is positioned in the front, and one is on the side to capture both perspectives.
The measurements, as well as videos and photos, can be saved as PDF and jpg files on a USB stick.
